One of the devices that sparkled at this year's CES was the Sony Xperia Z. It is part of a very select league at present: that of mobile phones with full HD screens. Sony has made many efforts for their top terminal to come into focus. Design plays an important role here, but the Xperia Z hardware is a step forward.
Construction
Whatever the case color, Xperia Z impresses at first sight. Producer put one resistant glass panel on both sides of the smartphone. In a very hard impact with the ground, a film applied to the glass will keep the broken pieces. The first thing that stands out when you admire the phone is the power button. It is great, silver and located on the right side, in a fairly convenient hand. If you have the black version of Xperia Z, its button helps you orient your phone when you keep it in your hand. Under the power button is the volume, thin and very finely worked. As you can see, there is no camera shutter button.
The port or connector of Sony Xperia Z is not visible. All are covered with plastic caps, fitted with small rubber. Xperia Z smartphone is waterproof and dust protected, according to IP67's standard. It can survive at 1 meter for 30 minutes. On the left side we have a microSD slot and microUSB connector, on the upper side was placed the audio jack and on the right side, besides the power button, is the micro slot. The card is inserted into the phone with a plastic tray.

Screen
Sony Xperia Z has the opportunity to shine in this chapter. The display of its equipment is impressive in terms of resolution and sharpness. Unfortunately, it also has weaknesses. With a pixel density of 443 ppi and Bravia Engine 2, the images and text are fine, even when you look at the phone closely. A good coating greatly reduces reflections and the screen is very visible in sunlight. When maximum screen brightness, black is less bright and the contrast is lower than other top terminals on the market. The colors are not as vivid as I wanted, and any AMOLED panel will look much better than that of Xperia Z. On the other hand, those who do not appreciate supersaturated colors will love this screen.
The main problem of the screen of the Sony Xperia Z is related to the angle of vision. The screen looks good when you look at it directly. If you exit a 90 degree angle, horizontal or vertical, the colors are faded, and the contrast decreases very strongly. Even sadder is that Sony has used two different panels for Xperia Z. Models sold in Japan have a better screen with better viewing angles. It is not an IPS or AMOLED, but the colors look better when the screen is viewed from an angle.
With next-generation hardware, Sony Xperia Z moves almost flawlessly. Is running on Android 4.1.2 operating system and is the first time we see this version on a Sony terminal. Manufacturer has chosen to keep all minimalist interfaces and has a large white ball in this chapter. Unlock screen is slightly different than the models with ICS. Unlocking is a gesture vertically from top to bottom or bottom to top. In the upper half of the screen is horizontal slider with which we used before. Unfortunately, it can not be used well if the phone is operated with one hand.
Browser
Android 4.1.2 comes with a new standard browser - the mobile version of Google Chrome, which can be installed before the store Play. In many ways, this browser is one of the best on the market. In addition, it has the advantage that it can be synchronized with desktop version that user uses. Chrome for Android offers navigation tabs, incognito browsing mode and sending a link to the desktop version on your phone and vice versa.
Multimedia
With Android 4.1.2, Sony has prepared several changes at its software. Android standard gallery was removed and replaced by Album, which displays thumbnails that can be resized by pinch-and-zoom. Those who use the geotagging feature will be able to see images located either on a map, or on a 3D globe. Xperia Z's video player is now called Movies and provides good support for nearly all known codecs. The interface is minimalist and application servers uses Gracenote to download information about clips.
Camera
The first thing that stands out when you open the camera application is the presence of two buttons on the right side. Along the trigger is now a dedicated button for shooting. When you shoot, you press the shutter button to save the image. The application provides a number of facilities with as smile shutter and HDR. One way that can be selected is Superior Auto, which recognizes the scene type and change the appropriate settings. The user has access to any parameter here. In this way, the image resolution will be 12 MP. Standard Auto mode, the user can adjust certain functions.
Autonomy
To heavy use with 3G connection and auto sync turned on email and Facebook, two hours of browsing, two hours of audio playback and an hour of games, Sony Xperia Z's battery can take all day. With easy operation, during which Stamina mode settings and Location-based Wi-Fi were enabled, the battery is discharged in two days and a half. It has been used for half an hour a day for calls, an hour surfing the Internet using wireless or 3G connection and time for audio playback.
Conclusion
In many ways, Sony Xperia Z is a spectacular end. Seems to have minimalist monolithic design. Several elements of the case suggest very fine production processes. In addition, the housing is resistant to water and dust, a feature that may be important for some users.
In terms of performance, the Sony Xperia Z is a formidable performer at the time of this writing. It sits on top along with other high end smartphones. Jelly Bean OS has a minimalistic interface, but provides a range of new features. That said, Xperia Z is an awesome smartphone.
