Gigabyte T1132 – The first 3-in-1 Hybrid.

Gigabyte T1132 is the first 3 in 1 computer in the world. The hybrid can be used as a mini laptop, tablet and with a docking station may even become a desktop.
For some time Gigabyte laptops invaded Europe, but it remains to be seen with what success. I can tell you that I met quality products, but if they were produced by another brand, would surely have aroused further interest from the local public. To return however to our Gigabyte T1132 product.
This is the first 3-in-1 portable in the world. It was announced last winter and is a hybrid device that can be used as a mini laptop, tablet and with a docking station may become a desktop.
The idea of a portable notebook + tablet is not new. By 2010 we've seen something alike from ASUS - Asus Eee PC T101MT. The difference lies in the fact that ASUS used a low-voltage processor series Atom processor and Gigabyte has implemented a low-voltage Intel Core i5 series. Well, besides the differences are many and various technical specifications, there are two years of evolution of technology.
I liked the idea of going ahead with innovation and to transform a notebook/tablet into a real computer with a docking station.
T1132N is a powerful computer, being able to rotate its 11.6-inch screen transforming into a tablet, notebook or desktop PC. In addition to the above processor, the laptop comes equipped with 4GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD and two graphics cards - Intel HD 3000 integrated and Nvidia GT 520M dedicated. Automatically benefit from Nvidia Optimus.
Gigabyte T1132 is the least of all. We can always find pluses and minuses depending on usage. It is to big for a mini laptop too heavy for a tablet and limited in certain transactions for a PC.
Gigabyte T1132 strengths:
  •  - Flexibility to turn the mini laptop into a Tablet or PC;
  •  - Very good configuration for a mini laptop/tablet and even PC;
  •   - Good sound quality;
  •  - Good quality materials;
  •  - Display 11.6-inch 1366 x 768, multi-touch.
Gigabyte T1132 weaknesses:
  •  - Is bulky and weighs 1.76kg;
  •  - High price;
  •  - No DVI port on the docking station, given that most monitors come with this connection  solution.
Notebook + Tablet + PC = Gigabyte T1132 - this is the magic formula that the Taiwanese manufacturer of the product relied when the 3-in-1 portable was made. It is difficult to me to say whether or not is a successful solution, especially since the market is invaded by dozens of models of tablets and hundreds of models of laptops, some more interesting than others.
To transform Gigabyte T1132 into a tablet, the display rotates and folds over the keyboard. Note that only rotates in one direction for folding. Supports multi-touch screen and can be used very well with your fingers or a stylus.
Like the other models tested, for editing you need a virtual keyboard and it can be accessed from the left. The operating system plays an important role in the activation and use Gigabyte T1132 as a tablet. Windows 7 Home Premium successfully fulfills its tasks for the Tablet PC OS, even if it's not very well optimized. Maybe Windows 8 will make from T1132 a portable and attractive gadget. Otherwise everything is done with a touch screen or two if necessary.
I see this feature to turn a laptop into tablet more useful in business sectors and especially for dynamic presentations and activities.
Now for Gigabyte T1132 as a desktop. I liked this idea very much. In other words, you have a docking station where you can fix the laptop and the drive, at the dock you can connect an external monitor/TV along with peripherals mouse and keyboard.
The docking station is rotating to ensure greater flexibility, so that T1132N can easily fluctuate, depending on individual desires.
Docking station comes equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, VGA port, RJ-45 network port and audio ports/microphone. On the side you can find the power port. In front is the on/off button and a button that can block the docking site.
The screen has a diagonal of 11.6 inches, is bright and multi-touch. The image is rendered at a resolution of 1366 x 768. This makes an intuitive and dynamic panel that can rotate up to 180 degrees. The audio system consists of two main speakers and 2 woofer speakers.
